Many people have heard that Windows 7 is going to be coming in the next couple of years and the beta is coming out soon (though there are leaks.) From the start Vista has been a slow and fat resource hog that has not been accepted as well as Microsoft would like. In the IT / Technology world most everyone is striving to make thing faster and better; as you will see in this article by Adrian Kingsley-Hughes of ZDNet explains Windows 7 looks very promising. • Faster boot times 
• Better performance in 3 out of the 4 benchmarks he did.  

He does state that this is a prebeta and performance could change, but he also says that compared to the vista beta, this is much better. I'm excited :)
